In an introduction to the printmaking studio we experimented with transfer printing by hand, and drypoint printing using an etching press.  The above prints are of a bird image, printed from an acetate sheet, experimenting with the use of ink for different effects.  I thoroughly enjoyed the printmaking workshop and will definitely want to learn more techniques throughout my degree.

Clouds are one of my favourite things, especially when they are lovely and fluffy and white, and the sky is bright blue behind them.  A lot of my daydreaming time is spent looking up at the sky...taking in the feeling of space, the known, the unknown, stretching out forever...thinking about how amazing this universe is...or not thinking about anything at all...

In an introduction to the photography studio we were taught how to make photograms (shadow-grams), and use a pinhole camera.  It was an interesting day and I would be very keen to look at photograms in more detail in the future.

Spring has arrived with blue skies and sunshine, and many flowers have started to bloom in the garden already.  Unfortunately I have had little time for my own artwork so far this year, and am missing it terribly.

I have been working on a small still life textile collage measuring 4 x 4 inches (10.2 x 10.2 cm).  After sorting through sketches and finding materials, the background was chosen and stitched together, ready to hand applique the vase and flowers.
